𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐚, 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐮𝐞— 𝟐𝟎 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟑 — El Manaro Exports recently completed its HACCP

re-certification audit successfully. This involved the review of documented procedures, refresher

training, and internal auditing.

𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬

Reported sales have increased by over 𝟑𝟑𝟎% since being initially certified in 2022. The

export markets were mostly other than the traditional ones within the region such as Australia.

This is because HACCP is an international standard being recognized globally, not just a

regional one.

Partners who assisted with El Manaro in achieving this milestone include the Department of

Industry in terms of processing equipment, the Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and PHAMA Plus in technical assistance

through local consulting firm Quality Solutions.

Certification for Pacific Island Businesses

Over the past 2 months, Dynamic Supply Company Vanuatu had been working with Quality Solutions to prepare for

it’s annual HACCP renewal audit. This involved refresher training for staff, updating of procedures

and internal auditing. These were necessary for Dynamic’s external audit by the Certifying Body (CB)

from New Zealand, which they have now successfully passed. HACCP certificates are independently

audited annually to maintain validity.

What this means for Tahitian Lime growers – Dynamic will keep its approved supplier status to

commercial buyers and large supermarkets such as Countdown in New Zealand, thereby increasing

demand for their limes.

It also means that Dynamic can supply other formal markets such as the cruise-ships with the line of

imported and local food products. This is due to the cruise-ships’ acceptance of the internationally

recognized HACCP certificate.

Dynamic is currently has the only local retail supermarket with HACCP certification, giving its

customers more confidence in its food safety and quality standards.
